Summer on the Peninsula is the time to get outdoors, and no better way to spend a day than at one of our local festivals.
Here at Landsystems, we see this as a great opportunity to do outreach and education on what we do. This year we have had tables at Woodside Earth Day, Los Altos Art & Wine Festival, and Menlo Summerfest. Don’t worry if you missed those, there are still more festivals to attend! Hope to see you there!

If you only have one time to water, should you do it in the morning or in the evening?
The answer might surprise you.
We suggest watering in the evening because to get the most use out of the water that you use. The sun causes the water to evaporate, so if you water in the evening you are actually conserving water and the plants gets more.
One caution is that leaves may stay moist so don’t spray the leaves in the evening. A soaker hose is a great option.
Tax-time, holiday time – all can add to stress this time of the year.
In the 1980s in Japan, they came up with a term “shinrin-yoku” which means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” It has become a building block of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine.
This weekend, remember to take some time away from the stresses and distractions of daily life and relax under the canopy of a living forest, and let the beauty of nature bathe you in its healing properties.
“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.”
– Margaret Atwood
Today is the day that we herald the start of Spring in the Western Hemisphere, and get to enjoy the earth renewing itself and showing us the first signs of the brilliant color that make the long winter all worth it.
We’ve had a rebirth here of our own here at Landsystems in the launch of our brand new website, built by Blue Apple Designs right here in the Bay Area.
You’ll find new projects, photos, an updated “About” section with a video featuring our Principal Tim Vine, staff profiles, and of course new blog posts. Take a look around, and be sure to come back often to get the latest updates on events, tips, and get inspired to request your consultation and start on the path to the garden of your dreams.
